Am I the only person confused about space, time and something coming from nothing?

I know that most astronomers believe in this and they are a lot smarter than me. I guess the human mind just finds it hard accept that something comes from nothing, or there was no time before the big bang and no space either. To me each one is as confusing as the next. I am happy to see some astronomers finally trying to go past the big bang, Also history shows the greatest minds of all times have been wrong many a times and they had a lot of smart people believing them until some one came along and proved them wrong. Sometimes it took centuries to figure out a accepted theory was wrong. Am I the only one confused? Remember I am just a normal guy who is inquisitive about the world and particularly the universe.
