RED EARD SLIDERS EARS FADING?

when i first got my baby RES 3 weeks ago Gideon's ears were bright orange but Ezekiel's ears were tan-ish then they were getting brighter. now they are fading... he is still eating good why are his ears fading ? is it an indecation of his diet? like a flamingo is more pink if they eat better
