12 year old starting ballet R.A.D?

I tried out for a ballet cl yesterday (intermediate foundation) and i think they put me in a too advanced cl and i couldnt keep up with anything except some barre work and i ended up sitting out. I really want to do ballet but do i have to be in that cl? And how long will it take for me to catch up? I've done jazz ballet all my life.
